Fred Thompson Drops Out

Alas Fred, we hardly knew ye. It's a sad day when the last true Conservative packs it in. He had the right ideas I think but his heart didn't seem to be in it until December and by then it was too late.

Now there are four--and Rudy and Huck could be beaten this weekend--and none have the qualities we want. Perhaps he can offset McCain's proclivity for going liberal on amnesty as his VP.
