New stuff below and the Friday Night Music post has been pushed back til tonight.

Here's some must-reads for today:

5,000 US troops are coming home from Iraq. It may be too early to declare victory but Bush should trumpet small wins that are occurring daily in Iraq.

The AP seems pissed that US shoppers are actually spending money again this year. The bad economy/horrible shopping year meme was old a month ago. Check out the headline: "Despite economy, malls and stores jammed". There's two things that anyone with an inkling of how American consumers think must know; we will always spend at Christmas and we will not stop driving regardless of how high the price of gas goes. The only one who ever stopped us doing those things was Jimmy Carter and his horrid economic policies.

Heaven help us if this is true.

Finally, anyone who watched Arkansas beat LSU in three overtimes yesterday knows what an epic game it truly was. The best part is that the entire BCS is thrown into disarray and maybe, just maybe they'll go to a playoff system like the should have decades ago. I would say Darren McFadden locked up the Heisman last night.
