It was on this date that Hezbollah terrorists backed by Iran attacked the US Marine barracks in Beirut killing 241. It was a continuation of the war begun by the followers of Ayatollah Khomeini four years earlier. Reagan pulled the Marines out and thus began the policies that continued through the Clinton years and erupted on US soil on 9/11/01.
