Bush's approval ratings are going up:
WASHINGTON — The arrest of bomb plotters in London has helped buoy President Bush's approval rating and the prospects for Republican congressional candidates in November.
A USA TODAY/Gallup Poll taken Friday through Sunday put Bush's approval rating at 42%, the highest in six months. His approval rating on handling terrorism was 55%, the highest in more than a year.
I would suspect that it was more than just the arrest of the bomb plotters. But look at that 55% approval for handling terror. I think the number for handling terror is high because people got a look at what the donks are offering in Lamont and said no thanks.
Support for an unnamed Democratic congressional candidate over a Republican one has narrowed to 2 percentage points. For the past year, Democrats have led by much wider margins.
See comment about Lamont above. The country sees what the Dems did to Lieberman, a man people don't adore per se but like. He's an honest guy in a dishonest DC and the donks threw him under the bus.
"It's a challenging environment," says Republican National Committee spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt, "but we will continue to make the case that a post-9/11 America can't afford to have leaders in office who believe defeatism is an acceptable strategy to protect our nation and win the war on terror."
I think the point is definitely getting across.
I wonder how the libs will spin this bit of news.
