Bush Approval Ratings Increase

W's approval rating now stands at 40% with a 55% disapproval rating. This is a significant increase if you look at historic numbers and how he's slowly moving toward a 50% approval rating.

I see several reasons for this, first the destruction of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and the subsequent arrests or killing of his associates. Secondly I think the public gave the Democrats a good hard look and decided they don't like what they see. Lastly, Americans know we must win in Iraq and think that Bush is better qualified than the donks to see this through to its conclusion.
Bush's 16% disapproval rating by Republicans is not telling because they support Bush but not all his policies. The independent number is one for concern but not terribly so. His approval among independents has risen 10% since mid-May and his approval among Democrats has also improved.
