Monday Morning News

This inspired a visual I really didn't need to start my week:

NBC sources say Senor is out of the running because of potential conflict-of-interest issues with Brown, coanchor of Today's weekend edition.

NBC's Andrea Mitchell and her hub, former Fed chairman Alan Greenspan, had no such issues "because he never told me anything," Mitchell says.

"Getting Alan Greenspan to talk about secret stuff would probably require some of the techniques used at Abu Ghraib."

The visual of old Alan Greenspan in a dog collar is disturbing, the fact that Andrea Mitchell even brought it up troubles me.

In other news, perhaps the answer to these whiners is that shootings, knifings and strangulation cause pain as well.

Finally, celebrities are there for our collective amusement. Tom Cruise seems to be the most amusing (or inane) of all lately:

JERUSALEM (Reuters) -- Suri, the name chosen by Hollywood couple Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes for their newborn daughter, is raising more than its share of interest in Israel.

It means "get out of here" in the local language, Hebrew.

Enjoy your Monday.
