Economic Numbers Still Getting Better

Sphere: Related Content

As the left jumps for glee at the latest Bush poll numbers, normal everyday people who have, like jobs and stuff, continue to see an improving economy:

The number of people employed in the US climbed by 211,000 in March, pushing down the jobless count and reinforcing confidence in the health of the economy.

The increase in net jobs reported on Friday was larger than expected but downward revisions of 34,000 to previous months left the overall picture much as economists had expected.

Employment growth did help to cut the unemployment rate from 4.8 to 4.7 per cent (in fact the exact figure was 4.654 per cent).

Consumer confidence is increasing also. I wouldn't be so quick to count the Republicans out. People vote with their wallets as James Carville so eloquently put it a decade ago.

Update: Cold Hearted Truth has thoughts.
