Final thoughts on the opening ceremonies:
I've always been a fan of Peter Gabriel but him singing the old socialist hymn "Imagine" was a bit much. As Lennon said: "Imagine there's no countries", well I did and it would've looked awfully stupid to have every nation march in under the UN banner.
But I digress. Yoko is easily as irritating today as ever and it's interesting that the ceremonies turned in to a peace march in a stadium built by "Il Duce" Mussolini, a man who rampaged through southern Europe and northern Africa in concert with the Nazi's.
What put me over the edge was the dudes on roller blades at the Winter Olympics. The fire was kinda cool, but come on Italy, how about some real friggin' ice?
