How to Rig a Poll

Sphere: Related Content

The M.O. for the Dems in this country has always been to put great faith in polls. We saw that played out in 2000 and 2004 with several polls showing Kerry winning. They of course were false or misguided to say the least. Pollsters like Zogby have been wrong for years.

A new poll has been released in which it shows that in a generic contest, the Dems would win by double-digits against the GOP. The exact wording is here:

Who Do You Want To Control Congress - 49% - Democrats/36%- Republicans

That sounds pretty devastating, doesn't it? I'm sure the newspapers are trumping this story in headlines across the nation.

Ankle Biting Pundits rips apart this poll from beginning to end and shows how a poll can easily be rigged.

The portion of the poll that would make me look deeper if I was a Donk is this:

Bush Approval Rating - 59% Disapprove/40% Approve

Every poll over the last month and a half has shown Bush flirting with the 50% mark and all a sudden he's down to a 40% approval rating? That doesn't make much sense. But then a party that has Ted Kennedy, former klansman Robert Byrd, Nanci Pelosi, Howie Dean and Harry Reid as it's leaders has been devoid of sense for years.

Anyway, the poll is weighted to the Dem side and thus is not a true representation of public opinion. That won't stop the Donks from wholeheartedly believing that it is true in their naive little hearts and just when they think things are turning around for them, they'll come away empty handed once again.

Come on Democrats, we Republicans want a stable, intelligent minority party that can provide us with serious opposition, not hyperbole and empty rhetoric. The party that once gave us great men like Truman, JFK and Zell Miller now gives us Jim McDermott and Rahm Emanuel and casts out their saviors such as Joe Lieberman. Sad if you ask me.
