When John McCain jousts with GWB, he is called a "maverick", how come when Joe Lieberman goes against Howie Dean and Nancy Pelosi, he is labeled a sell-out?
Well, at least one left-leaning editorial board is sane enough to see what the angry left is doing to the Democrats:
For pushing civil and serious debate on matters of life and death, recognizing that the real sacrifices are being made in Iraq, in the homes of U.S. military families and in veterans hospitals, not on the Senate floor or at press-conference podiums.
For offering hope that, should the Republicans be Abramoffed out of the majority next year, there will be at least one Democrat who won't follow House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Harry Reid in the charge over Surrender Cliff.
Lieberman won't hear that thanks anytime soon, but he's earned it.
Let's go Dems, we need an opposition party who has some sense and some ideas. This current strategy of hammering the President--especially on the day of a momentoous election in Iraq--is damaging your party in ways you'll never understand.
America needs two vibrant parties that have intelligence and the best interests of the American people at heart. Instead we have only one, but thank goodness they are the majority.
Update: More proof they have nothing of substance to say, now or in the future.
