Glenn Reynolds has a post about the take down of a guy on a Hawaii bound plane and adds this thought:
Another air-safety success, without the involvement of the Homeland Security folks.
I wouldn't jump to that conclusion so fast. The guy was apprehended and held using plastic cuffs, which are generally not something a citizen would carry. Also, TSA may have not wanted to blow the Federal Air Marshal's (FAM's) cover or have TSA in the news so shortly after the shooting incident in Florida.
I've heard that there are near weekly incidents in which the FAM's are involved that do not make the paper from a source who knows.
This seems like such a case.
