Hillary and Byrd

Jeanine Pirro takes a duel stab at Hillary and former Kleagle Robert Byrd:

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Possible Republican challenger Jeanine Pirro criticized Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton Tuesday for co-sponsoring a birthday party for Sen. Robert Byrd, citing his long-ago membership in the Ku Klux Klan and a racially charged 2001 comment.

Pirro's complaint came a day after the Washington Post reported that Clinton and the Senate's eight other Democratic female senators were hosting a 88th birthday party for Byrd, a West Virginia Democrat, Tuesday night at the home of civil rights pioneer Frederick Douglass.

"It's outrageous and shocking that Senator Clinton and her Democrat colleagues would choose Frederick Douglass' house to honor Senator Robert Byrd who has a history of involvement with hate groups and has used racial slurs publicly," said Pirro spokeswoman Andrea Tantaros.

The Donks will scream that this is a low blow as they always do when you use their own words or actions against them (as you will no doubt hear them whine when they see this video). Hell, I'd repeat this every day until it was common knowledge to the entire country. The same with Teddy Kennedy and Chappaquiddick.

These are not cases of a youthful indiscretion such as smoking pot or breaking windows. Byrd belonged to a group that lynched blacks throughout the south for decades.

Kennedy failed to save a drowning woman he was with and neglected to inform authorities until he discussed the incident with his lawyer.

Come on, these are the "elder statesmen" of the Democratic party, not council persons of a small town.
