Great Sports Announcers

I mentioned before that Cardinal Martini is liveblogging the USC-Cal game. While watching the game, I thought how much I miss listening to Keith Jackson (Whoa Nellie!) call a big football game.

I grew accustomed during my ten years living in southern California to listening to Vin Scully, the late Chick Hearn and Mr. Jackson.

Granted, on this coast I get to hear Hall of Famer Harry Kalas call 162 games a year and the excellent Eagles radio man Merrill Reese, but I miss hearing Keith Jackson now that he is not traveling and calling Penn State-Michigan or Michigan-Ohio State anymore.
