Corzine Reverts to Liberal Roots

Sphere: Related Content

It took only a few days, but Governor-elect Corzine gives a glimpse of just how liberal he really is:

NEWARK, N.J. - Gov.-elect Jon S. Corzine promised black ministers yesterday that his administration would increase the percentage of state contracts awarded to minority-owned companies.

...Corzine told the Black Ministers' Council of New Jersey that the disparity between the haves and the have-nots in society and in New Jersey angered him.
He noted that the chief executive officers of some of the country's biggest corporations are African American and said that, with encouragement and resources, that sort of success could be replicated many times over in New Jersey.

That would mean quotas. That would also be un-American. In business, the strong survive and the weak go bankrupt, by setting a quota limit for minorities only hurts those who've built their business but don't happen to be minorities.
