"Journalist" Paul McGeough swore up and down that Ayad Allawi murdered seven prisoners in Iraq. This report indicates that Paulie was wrong again:
LIE detector tests have shown that allegations of murder against Iraq's former interim leader, Iyad Allawi, were most likely false.
The finding comes after a top-secret US intelligence probe into reports by journalist Paul McGeough that Mr Allawi murdered seven prisoners with a pistol in June 2004.
Sources said US special forces guards assigned to Dr Allawi and several Iraqi officials were asked to have polygraph (lie detector) tests.
Dr Allawi was Iraq's main assassination target for months leading up to national elections and the heavily armed troops were at his side 24-hours-a-day.
Sources told the Herald Sun every guard is believed to have told the truth when they denied the murder allegations.
