Freddie Mitchell--the best receiver in football according to him--was released by the Birds today:
Andy Reid took the high road. He showed class. He treated wide receiver Freddie Mitchell with dignity and compassion on Friday, included one of those "good luck" statements in the official release announcing Mitchell's release and now we move on.
No more Mitchell.
The former first-round draft pick who never lived up to that billing and who thumbed his nose at the organization, dissed a quarterback who put an awful lot of money in his pocket and made the dubious decision to call out New England head coach Bill Belichick is now part of Eagles history.
Good bye.
See ya, scrub. Enjoy life in the Arena Football League.
A note to anyone who plays for Andy Reid; don't play contract games with him.
