Relief Efforts Continued

Sphere: Related Content

The outrage by the world community and at home concerning the amount of money the US pledged to help earthquake/tsunami relief efforts has been deafening and deliberate. The mighty US hates the poor, America is stingy, blah, blah, blah...

Let's take a second to think here. Which would you consider better leadership:

A major natural disaster occurs and the leader of the most powerful nation on earth pledges a beginning amount, than steps back, assesses the situation, confers with experts and other governments with more in depth knowledge of the area then increases his pledge to not only include money but search and rescue equipment, naval hospital capabilities and other ancillary items.

Or;

A leader who just throws a dollar amount out with no idea how it would be spent or to whom the funds would go.

Democrats and Libs prefer the latter because money solves every problem; social security, welfare, health care etc.
