More from Iraq

Friends of Democracy is being update frequently, keep checking in. I found this interesting; a Q & A with Dohuk residents. This stood out to me:

Concerning the coming elections, January 30, as a citizen, I hope for the best, and I am optimistic because they will occur on time.

Emphasis mine. It is extremely important that these elections occurred on time. The hand wringers who moaned that the election should be put off for a time should be ashamed of themselves.

Tim Blair has links to all kinds of news comcerning the election, this is my favorite: Inky Goodness

Al-Jazeera is doing their very best to put a damper on these historic events.

VOA takes the other tact.

Looking at Google news round-up about Iraq, it seems as though the majority of "news" outlets are playing this as a failure. Alot of "damning buts"

Update: I almost forgot that Roger L. Simon live blogged the beginning of the election last night and will continue with his excellent insight today.

Update II: Mark Steyn has the Euro view.
