Random Thoughts on the NFL

I've been an Eagles fan since the day I was conceived, in fact most kids first words are Momma or Dadda. Not me, mine were Cowboys suck! The birds are now rolling through their schedule after whacking the Pack at home. How good are they? It's hard to say at this point with the NFC looking like a really bad conference. The birds only loss was an ass-kicking by a rookie-led Steelers team who came off a win at powerhouse New England.

My son at least had the good sense to pick the Chargers as his team (although I used every known conversion method to change his yound mind). Granted the bolts are two games up in the AFC West and appear to be a lock for the playoffs, generally you know by mid season they suck and by January you've already healed your heart and are looking to next seasons draft day.

The Eagles string you along. They go deep in the playoffs and pull amazing shit (a game I was at)out of the ether. For crying out loud, if a team pulls out a friggin' 4th and 26 play with little time on the clock, they must have enough to beat an upstart the next week in their third straight NFC Championship appearance, right? Uh, no.

How good is this team? We shall see.

BTW, read Gregg Easterbrooke, AKA TMQ at NFL.com.

One more thing; it sure is good to hear Jim Rome on the radio again, I miss his show, which is not available in the Philly area and watching Monday Night Football at 6:00 PM is a welcome change from the brutal 9:00 east coast start time.
