The Inquirer Spins
The Philadelphia Inquirer puts TrouserGate story above the fold with two column inches to the right. They explain it this way:
The report on the plot, according to a final version that was summarized in a staff report from the Sept. 11 commission earlier this year, concluded that American-led counterterrorism efforts "had not put too much of a dent" in Osama bin Laden's overseas network and that "sleeper cells" may have taken root in the United States.
Breuer said Berger inadvertently put three or four versions of the report on the millennium plots in a leather portfolio that he had with him.
Berger also put in his jacket and pants pockets handwritten notes that he had made during his review of the classified documents, Breuer said. He said that the removal of even Berger's own notes was a "technical violation" of archival policy, but he denied accusations from leading Republicans that Berger removed the material intentionally to avoid embarrassing disclosures.
Officials at the National Archives realized late last year that several documents were missing and turned the matter over to the FBI, which executed several search warrants at Berger's home and office, officials said.
Emphasis mine. I have read no where that he put the notes in his pockets. Is this Inquirer spin?
