Cosby Starts The Discourse

Over at BET, the message board is hopping about Cosby and his comments:

Cosby’s remarks were met with applause as the Rev. Jesse Jackson stood by and nodded in agreement. "I can't even talk the way these people talk,” the “Fat Albert” creator said, "And then I heard the father talk ... Everybody knows it's important to speak English except these knuckleheads. You can't be a doctor with that kind of crap coming out of your mouth."
"For me there is a time ... when we have to turn the mirror around," he said. "Because for me it is almost analgesic to talk about what the White man is doing against us. And it keeps a person frozen in their seat, it keeps you frozen in your hole you're sitting in."

My daughter & I have had much long-suffering but through the struggle we survived and without the help of a "Black Man." It's so unfortunate there are so many of our children today who don't know their daddy. My daughter taught me that DNA means "Dad Not Available." I Thank Mr. Cosby for his honesty and If he ran for public office, I would vote for him. What he is doing is telling the truth and if it angers people then maybe that's because he's speaking the truth. Unthaw from the hatred of the "White Man," he's just watching us annialate ourselves...

I'd like to just say that the children are not the blame for what kind of life style that they are raised in. And further how can he refer to the children as "dirty laundy", everyone has the right to speak the opinion, and if you ask me he really could of used a better way to express how he feels. Furthmore, I dont see Dr. Cosby buying any type of shelter for these kids let alone is he paying for their education. I don't think it's fair to say that the children are turning out bad because of the parents. There are thousands of children who struggle as a child to deal with society and turn out to be very successful and I don't think that how he expressed his self was appropriate, especially coming from someone who we all watched growing up. If Dr. Cosby is bold enough to speak that way than he should be trying his best to do something about it. I would also like to comment on Mr. Jesse Jackson can teach the kids to cheat on your wife! You would think that with all this knowledge that these two black men have, the only reason that they could use for domestic violence is black men can't find a job, that is something that goes on in black and white communities so what is there reason?

We really must have a truthful dialogue about race in America. I think that dialogue must first take place in the black community.
