Janeane Garofalo's website has some interesting things. I found this there:

Thanks for the article. Several others accompanying it it were also interesting. The description closely follows what I heard on the radio. I can't understand how those ads played for several weeks before move-on leaders realised they were there and wonder how long they would have appeared had not uproar developed. This is a small tempist, but I see the same stupidity as happened with lack of planning for the Iraqi occupation. Not only did adminstrators of the contest permit two vile commercials to appear, but they opened themselves to right wing and other criticism. Republicans will twist the story for their own purposes, and further discuss the allegation that a percentage of move-on's contributions come from foreign sources. Move-on's reaction seems too defensive, and I think their accusing the Republicans of engaging in a smear campaign is ingenious. Move-on were the wrong doers in this, not the Republicans. I think they should stick with an appology and merely counter inaccurate stories about the commercials. Just as I believe the perpetrators of the Iraqi occupation should be fired, so should the people who allowed the two commercials to be posted and remain for weeks on the site even if one of them is Janeane Garafalo. Not only did they insult a good man, but they left the organization and Democrats open to gratitutious attacks. In the general scheme of things, this is a small issue. They won't take my advice, but they should offer their appology, fire the perpetrators, and just move-on.

The dude could use some serious spelling help, but at least some on the left see the sickness that is the Bush is Hitler comparison.
