An interesting poll shows what some Americans think about morality:

What's morally acceptable?

These are the findings of a new poll by the Gallup Organization on what Americans view as "morally acceptable" and &

quot;morally wrong" behavior (the pollsters claim the results are accurate to within three percentage points):

Divorce 66% acceptable, 27% wrong

Medical testing on animals 63% acceptable, 33% wrong

Death penalty 64% acceptable, 31% wrong

Sex between unmarried man, woman 58% acceptable, 41% wrong

Human embryo stem cell research 54% acceptable, 38% wrong

Having baby outside of wedlock 51% acceptable, 46% wrong

Doctor-assisted suicide 45% acceptable, 49% wrong

Homosexual behavior 44% acceptable, 52% wrong

Abortion 37% acceptable, 53% wrong

Cloning animals 29% acceptable, 68% wrong

Suicide 14% acceptable, 81% wrong

Cloning humans 8% acceptable, 90% wrong

Polygamy 7% acceptable, 92% wrong

Married men and women having affair 6% acceptable, 93% wrong

Gambling 63% acceptable, 34% wrong

Animal fur clothing 60% acceptable, 36% wrong

This make sense. Infidelity is wrong by a large majority while gambling is OK because most people do it. The abortion numbers are also interesting. Most folks feel as I do; abortion is wrong, but the government should not have a say in it. The views on homosexuality are about where I expected them.
