Hillary is calling for another bloated section of government:
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton announced Monday that she is sponsoring a bill that would help people throughout the country find the social services they need from Meals on Wheels to housing just by calling 211.
``Someone could call and say, `I need child care' or `I need job training' or `I need affordable housing' and we could direct them to not-for-profit agencies that can address the problem,'' the New York Democrat said. ``Right now, there is no single source of information. We need a central clearinghouse.''
The states and the feds already offer this info, look in the phone book under the blue pages and finding the right place is pretty damn easy. It's a vanilla bill that'll probably pass without much fight, and something Hillary can crow about when needed.
