THE tactics used to confront two of Iraq’s six Republican Guard divisions were a classic example of modern manoeuvre warfare — using feint attacks and surprise — and the exploitation of America’s night-vision capability.
The attack on the 12,000- strong Medina Division southwest of the capital and the 10,000-strong Baghdad Division in the southeast was made on one of the darkest nights of the campaign.


Now it gets hairy, we have Saddam (if alive) and the important Baath Party members trapped.
