I honestly like Chris Matthews. Hardball was once a great show. During the mid-term elections, I watched Matthews with Howard Fineman, Donna Brazile, and the indispensible Peggy Noonan. I surfed to other stations but no one had the energy of Matthews. The guy lives for politics and the political game. However, he has become so biased as to become unwatchable. He actually seems pissed that the Republicans are in charge and Bush is in control. He has started going to the Maureen Dowd style of reporting using derogatory statements towards the president that are unbecoming to someone of his experience. Chris hasn't quite realized that the world changed dramatically on 9-11. People don't care about the insignificant anymore, only the things that matter like security, economy, and putting al-Qaeda out of business. His show was getting lower ratings than Donahue prior to Donahue being booted. If MSNBC really wants to change the liberal tag they've been fitted with, Chris will have to learn to be more objective.
