As a New Jersey resident, and a former California resident, I find it amazing the ways that Gov. Davis and Gov. Mc Greevey are alike. McGreevey's first year has been filled with scandal, the economy is shaky, his first move as Governor was to ensure that all state contractors must hire union labor, and numerous people in his administration have been forced to resign due to shady dealings. He also awarded Amiri Baraka Poet Laureate and now can't get rid of him. The last election was also similar to California. The Republican candidate, Brent Shundler, is a good man, but in NJ you must be moderate. Just as Bill Simon couldn't get elected in CA, a Conservative Republican will not be elected in New Jersey.
