Further Proof That Liberals Abhor America

The first paragraph of this WaPo piece sums it up:

He was a courtly State Department intelligence analyst from a prominent family who loved to sail and peruse the London Review of Books. Occasionally, he would voice frustration with U.S. policies, but to his liberal neighbors in Northwest D.C. it was nothing out of the ordinary. "We were all appalled by the Bush years," one said.

So he was a typical lib upset with the Bush policies over the last eight years, how many of those are there?

But wait, the guy has been indicted as a spy for Fidel Castro:

What Walter Kendall Myers kept hidden, according to documents unsealed in court Friday, was a deep and long-standing anger toward his country, an anger that allegedly made him willing to spy for Cuba for three decades.

"I have become so bitter these past few months. Watching the evening news is a radicalizing experience," he wrote in his diary in 1978, referring to what he described as greedy U.S. oil companies, inadequate health care and "the utter complacency of the oppressed" in America. On a trip to Cuba, federal law enforcement officials said in legal filings, Myers found a new inspiration: the communist revolution.

See that nice little piece of bias thrown in by the WaPo. They mention that the guy was "appalled" the policies laid out by Bush but he started spying against his nation and for Cuba during the Carter administration so it's just not jibing all that well. He began his espionage activities while we were suffering through the most socialist presidency in history (since surpassed by the present CINC) and the guy didn't think we were communist enough.

Let's flesh this out for a sec: the guy was pissed about "greedy oil companies", health care and the lack of radicalism in the "oppressed" so he decided to make it better by spying for Castro? I call bullshit on this. He did it partly for ideological reasons but he did it for money as well as I'm sure we'll find out.

Plain and simply the guy is a fucking traitor and should be locked up next to Robert Hansen at the Colorado Supermax where he can be neighbors with Ramzi Yousef and Ted Kazinsky. There were two Democrats and the start of a third when he spied so the hatred of conservative policies excuse doesn't fly even an iota.

The Post should be ashamed of themselves for writing a puff piece on a traitor but of course they won't. Liberals will always back other liberals when it comes to treason and this is no different. Liberals hate America and the principles we were founded on and I have no hesitation in saying that the majority of the State Department leads the charge. They have a long history of protecting spies against America in their midst. They still believe Alger Hiss was innocent in spite of the myriad evidence showing the guy was on the Soviet dole for years and I expect nothing different from them this time.

Did Obama Give away Texas Without Us Knowing?

According to the gaffe-inclined State Dept. they did:

Secretary Clinton is already the most traveled Secretary of State in a new Administration. The Secretary’s trips have included her inaugural trip to Asia, the Middle East and Europe, Mexico and across the border to Texas, the Hague in the Netherlands, Europe with President Obama, Haiti and the Dominican Republic, the Summit of the Americas in Trinidad and Tobago with President Obama, and to Iraq and Kuwait.

Now I know The One has been on a ceaseless blame America first, mea culpa tour of the world telling any world leading he could find that he was sorry for the deeds us evil Americans have perpetrated upon them but did he appease Mexico by giving Texas back?

I'm sure his supporters of La Raza will be very happy as they thought it would require a fight to reclaim land they believe was stolen.

I'm sure the Texans will be shocked (and possibly pleased) by this news but they've been arming themselves of late and are probably itching for a battle. Plus, they can now drill wherever the hell they want to and reduce taxes as a sovereign nation. A win-win for them I guess.

How the hell have we gone from a professional State Dept. led by a competent former Provost at Stanford to an agency lead by a bumbling former Senator that can't get even the smallest detail right?

The Obama Amateur Hour Continues

Not so much The One this time but his most prominent administration official embarrassing the USA.

Hillary Clinton visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a revered shrine for Catholics in Mexico. A church Monsignor showed Shrillary the Our Lady of Guadalupe image. The image is believed to have been imprinted by the Almighty himself and anyone with even a cursory knowledge of the Catholic Church would know this.

So what did our brilliant SecState ask?

After observing it for a while, Mrs. Clinton asked “who painted it?” to which Msgr. Monroy responded “God!”

Singularly, this would just be an oversight by the State Department in not preparing Hillary for the visit. Those things happen. But add this to the DVD fiasco with Gordon Brown and the bungled "reset button" gimmick with the Russians and we see an administration that is unprepared for even the basics of statesmanship and leadership. Hillary should be singled out as well as this is two times within weeks that her staff has made her look the idiot, a task she does fine by herself without outside assistance.

Update: Remember how we were told this would be the "most wired adminsitration in history". Uh, no.

It's Time for A Civil Service Purge

More proof that the State Dept. is full of highly unreliable people. The Pentagon being mentioned bothers the hell out of me as well:

Among the hours of covert tape recordings, she says she heard evidence that one well-known senior official in the US State Department was being paid by Turkish agents in Washington who were selling the information on to black market buyers, including Pakistan.

The name of the official – who has held a series of top government posts – is known to The Sunday Times. He strongly denies the claims.

However, Edmonds said: “He was aiding foreign operatives against US interests by passing them highly classified information, not only from the State Department but also from the Pentagon, in exchange for money, position and political objectives.”

She claims that the FBI was also gathering evidence against senior Pentagon officials – including household names – who were aiding foreign agents.

Ferret them out and arrest them for treason regardless of the political consequences I say. This is the biggest problem with the federal government--of which I was employed for nearly a decade. You have career people who live in the DC bubble and amass power for themselves with little checks or balances.

State has always had its share of anti-American types who actively work against the policies of the President. Liberal hero Alger Hiss was the most famous but not the only one.

This really pisses me off:

The wider nuclear network has been monitored for many years by a joint Anglo-American intelligence effort. But rather than shut it down, investigations by law enforcement bodies such as the FBI and Britain’s Revenue & Customs have been aborted to preserve diplomatic relations.

To hell with "diplomatic relations", we are talking about the national security of America and that is paramount. A few hurt feelings are nothing compared with the selling of state secrets--hurt feelings can be repaired, a nuked city can not.

Condi Rice never stood a chance of changing State, the deeply entrenched plutocracy could not be budged within the short time frame she's been there. Think Richard Armitage and his ilk.

Finally with regard to civil servants--it's well passed time to make an example of those who have been selling secrets by prosecuting them and giving them long terms with no parole. Anyone who knew what was occurring should be relieved of their duties and never allowed back into the government and the periphery people who had some knowledge of what was happening and did nothing should be demoted to positions where they have no access to secret or confidential documents. This is treasonous activity and Bush should treat it as such regardless of the political ramifications.

Update: Note that the most damaging issue was the sale of nuke secrets that allowed A.Q. Khan to develop nukes in Pakistan and pass info on to other nations hostile to the US as well. That occurred while Bill and Hillary wre whooping it up on Pennsylvania Ave. I'd like to know how many of the people they've discovered are holdovers from the Clinton years.
