Many states are seeing an unexpected surplus (due in part to the Bush tax cuts). Massachusetts and Virginia in particular are trying to figure out what to do with this new found revenue. The prudent thing would be to pay down debt or increase tax cuts. That's probably not in the cards, however.
NY is $1-billion in the black. What will RINO Pataki do? Here's a chance for three governors (and 42 others in states in the same situation) to prove what is really important; cutting taxes and debt, or cowtailing to the leftist leanings of state legislatures and enacting new spending programs.
