News and Notes

I've not had any time this week to post. Here's a few things I've missed:

Catholic Church Scandal
The Philadelphia DA's office released the very graphic and detailed report of the Philadelphia Arcdiocese and their systematic cover up of sexually abusive priests. I'm not one to bash any religion unless it is deserved, in this case the leaders of the church destroyed the lives of many of those children they were supposed to protect.

Katrina & Rita
New Orleans is under water (again or still), and Rita smacked the LA/TX border. It seems as though the damage wasn't as severe as it may have been. due to proper pre-planning by the state of Texas. The difference in preparedness between the two states was striking.

Moonbats Unleashed
The Stalinists from the World Workers Party and International ANSWER were allowed out of their straight jackets to visit Washington DC and play with their equally looney friends in front of the Whitehouse. Pix here and more links here. It's pretty ironic that Mother Sheehan and her roving band of crazies were upstaged by Mother Nature. They were, of course, apoplectic.

I was there in DC (accidentally), and I laughed. And laughed. And screeched. It was either the idiocy or I was really ignoring my boiling blood!

"allowed out of their straight jackets"

Come to Madison, Wisconsin where they get tenure instead of strait-jackets.
